We're already hearing about lots of amazing events taking place around the UK during #NationalPetMonth. Take a look

It’s week 1 of #NationalPetMonth and there’s so much going on!

For starters, news is already coming in of a variety of fantastic fundraising events for UK pet charities in the coming days.

This Saturday (April 7) Northlands Veterinary Hospital in Northamptonshire is holding a fun dog show in aid of The Stray Animal Fund.

There’ll also be pets in the pews when Worcester Cathedral holds an Animal and Pet Blessing on Saturday, April 14 from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.

Starting with a parade from Worcester Bridge to the cathedral, there will be an animal blessing at 1pm where “all animals are welcome to bring their owners, large or small, exotic or domestic…a site to behold.”

Those taking part will also get the chance to hang a heart on the memory tree for a pet who has died and enjoy music and singing in the company of the Mayor and Mayoress of Worcester.

Hundreds of people and pets are expected at the event alongside a range of animal charities.
