Show You Care With Pet Care Aware

Pet Care Aware, National Pet Month’s exciting initiative to bring together pet professionals and pet friendly organisations, is now live at www.nationalpetmonth.org.uk

Visitors to the site are just one click away from joining NPM’s new Pet Care Aware family, launched to help spread the responsible pet care message throughout the year and beyond the annual campaign month of April.

Organisations who join the PCA community for just £250 for the year will be given a year’s listing on the NPM website with a live link to their site, an exclusive “We’re Pet Care Aware” electronic supporter badge for online channels and a window sticker for their premises.

Money raised from membership will be ploughed into NPM’s work to promote responsible pet care across the UK, allowing the charity to highlight and work with fellow pet charities, schools and pet focused organisations.

“Launching Pet Care Aware at www.nationalpetmonth.org.uk is such a fabulous step forward for National Pet Month, heralding the start of some exciting new ventures for the charity,” says NPM Chairman Michael Bellingham.

“With the launch of the new click and join section of the NPM website at https://www.nationalpetmonth.org.uk/join-pca it’s never been quicker or easier to show you care with Pet Care Aware. We would love to see as many pet friendly organisations as possible become a member so, together, we can grow a thriving online community and information resource with pet welfare at its heart.”

National Pet Month is a well-known charity, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2019, and is known for its campaign month in April each year. However, as Michael explains, NPM has always been about so much more than the month and introducing PCA allows the charity to ensure key responsible pet care messages are shared throughout the year.

“Nothing would give us greater pleasure than - in NPM’s 30th year - seeing the UK pet and vet community come together and publicly declare they are Pet Care Aware by joining us to build a pet friendly community to be proud of.”

National Pet Month campaign takes place from April 1 - May 6, 2019, encouraging pet fans to learn and talk about responsible pet care and raise money for their favourite UK pet charities.

NPM has a thriving community of more than 100,000 pet lovers on social media through its family of online channels. On Facebook, for instance, National Pet Month, Park Bench and Scratching Post stay live and are regularly updated. The Pet Care Aware brand allows pet-friendly businesses and organisations to carry the supporter logo and have their listing on the NPM/Pet Care Aware website, and also allows larger businesses to target pet fans with their messages through sponsorship packages all year round.

If you’re in business and would like to support the educational charity aims of NPM, you can join the Pet Care Aware family here https://www.nationalpetmonth.org.uk/join-pca for just £250.

For those Pet Care Aware family members with a bigger budget you can book bespoke sponsorship campaigns, from a week upwards, with each one enabling you to put your key messages directly in front of NPM’s social media followers. Campaigns can even be built to target dog or cat owners specifically through our engaged Facebook communities and start from as little as £500 up to top line sponsorship of £25,000.

Michael adds: “As an educational charity we spend many hours talking to schools, businesses, fellow charities and other organisations about the importance of responsible pet care, using our Top 10 Tips for responsible pet ownership as a great guide to help the country’s pets stay happy and healthy.

“However, there is still a fair amount of misunderstanding about NPM in that we are an umbrella charity that helps showcase other UK pet charities and our work goes on throughout the year. Pet Care Aware offers us the chance to create a wonderful new family of pet care supporters in the veterinary profession and business community, all with the same key aims – to ensure our country’s pets are receiving the very best care possible.”

The only month that can’t be sponsored as part of Pet Care Aware is April, which is reserved for National Pet Month sponsors.

Pet Care Aware - because we care about pets all year round.
