“Luna’s always taught me that you need to approach life with patience, flexibility and a laugh. What better time to do that than during a global pandemic?”
“She’s helped me get up for a walk when all I wanted to do was sit on the sofa and disappear into Netflix, and knowing I need to look after her has made me better at looking after myself,” says Martina McHowat about her canine companion.
“Luna’s always taught me that you need to approach life with patience, flexibility and a laugh. What better time to do that than during a global pandemic?”
Martina, Brand Experience Lead for Purina, adds: “It’s been wonderful having four excellent reasons to go out every day to take Luna to the park, and we’ve both benefitted from spending more time outside in the fresh air together when everything felt so uncertain and alien.”
Martina’s four-legged friend has been a calming influence at home too.
“It’s been so nice to have her cuddled into my lap whilst I’m working, or being able to play a quick game during a break to decompress us both,” she explains.
Luna’s also raised lots of smiles by learning two new skills during lockdown – how to tell time and how to talk.
“Come 12pm she’ll start to jump at my shoulder, chatter at me and give me the look that says ‘it’s definitely time to go now’.
“She doesn’t seem to care if her acrobatics are caught on camera either. Her expressiveness makes me laugh every day, and I’m convinced she’s got the best head tilt in the business,” adds Martina.
