National Pet Month – April 1-May 6, 2013 – is nothing without public support – YOUR support.

So, pet owning public of the UK, pet organisations and veterinary professionals we need YOU!

We know just how much this nation loves its pets – whether you own a cat or dog, rabbit, guinea pig, snake or any other pet – they all make up our family and enrich our lives in so many ways.

So, now it’s our chance to repay their unconditional love and help encourage the nation to look after its animals responsibly by becoming a National Pet Month supporter.

 Don’t worry it won’t cost you a penny – just a few minutes of your time. Simply go to http://www.nationalpetmonth.org.uk/portal/admin/create-account and fill in the online form.

Whether you’re a veterinary practice, veterinary professional, retailer, groomer, local authority, charity or rescue home, kennel or cattery owner, youth group, toddler group, school, animal behaviourist or simply a pet loving member of the public, your support really can make a difference.

By becoming a supporter you can help raise awareness and funds for all those local pet charities that do so much good work around the UK day in, day out, 365 days a year.

Just think for a minute, how many unsung heroes and heroines run small organisations near you that look after unwanted, injured or ill pets? Just imagine their delight if you and your friends decided to hold an event during National Pet Month to raise money for them.

It doesn’t have to be anything grand, although we love big events too! How about selling some home-baked treats during National Pet Month, organising a sponsored dog walk or asking your veterinary surgery or pet shop to join forces with you to stage a fun or educational event?

We’ll also keep you up to date with National Pet Month activities and give you access to our interactive map at www.nationalpetmonth.org.uk/events/ so you can post details of your event online.
