St Boniface Vets - Overall winners of the National Pet Month event competition 2010

Philip Sketchley, Chairman of the Trustees (NOAH, PFMA and PCT) presented an award to Emma James and the team at St Boniface Vets on Thursday 18th November. Also in attendance were pupils and parents from Hayward’s Primary School.

St Boniface Vets participated in National Pet Month 2010 by visiting local nursery and primary schools through April, May, and June teaching kids about pet health, and specifically raising awareness of exotic animals as pets. They were overall winners in the event category and a fantastic example of working with others.

Phil Sketchley, Chairman of NPM said:
“National Pet Month is an opportunity for us all to learn more about responsible pet care so we can enjoy our pets for many years to come. By following our 10 top tips, our animals will enjoy healthier and longer lives,” explained Phil Sketchley.

“The 14 excellent educational visits that Emma made to the local schools and nurseries were inspirational. A fantastic example of working with others and it was felt that the aims of National Pet Month, including promoting responsible pet ownership and encouraging happy healthy pets, were taken into account and furthered as part of the events organised.”

In 2010 National Pet Month had over 1200 events and helped raise over £79,000.00 for over 30 animal charities up and down the UK. Next year National Pet Month  runs from 2 April - 2 May.
